On March 7, 2026, the Thai Occupational Medicine Research Center at SEMed Living Care Hospital welcomed Mr. Yoshihide Iio and Mr. Sugio Yoshikawa from Chubu Gakuin University, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, an educational institution with expertise in training and developing care workers/caregivers and long-term care personnel.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss avenues of academic and professional cooperation in sending hospital personnel to receive training in Japan's elderly care curricula, in order to bring back knowledge, technology, and effective care standards to apply toward developing elderly care services in Thailand.
Thailand has currently entered a "complete aged society," with the population aged 60 and above accounting for more than 20% of the total population in 2023, or approximately more than 13 million people, a proportion that is expected to continue rising in the future. This reflects the importance of developing a quality elderly care system that meets international standards.
The discussion proceeded smoothly and in a friendly atmosphere, marking an important step in cooperation between the two organizations to develop personnel capabilities and raise the standard of elderly care services at SEMed Living Care Hospital, so that clients and their families can be confident of receiving care that is high-quality, safe, and appropriate to the needs of the elderly in every dimension.
SEMed Living Care Hospital is committed to continuously developing medical and healthcare services, placing importance on learning and building cooperation with leading institutions both domestically and internationally.
