COVID-19 Testing
ATK & RT-PCR

RT-PCR is the primary diagnostic method recommended by the WHO (the "Gold Standard"), detecting the virus's genetic material (RNA) directly by amplifying tiny amounts present in a sample — unlike ATK, which detects viral proteins
Benefits of This Test
- The most accurate method to confirm SARS-CoV-2 infection in the body
- Detects the virus early, as soon as 2–3 days after exposure, before symptoms appear
- Detects both live and dead virus — recovered patients may still test positive
- Results are widely accepted for cross-provincial travel, international travel, and workplace entry requirements
Testing Procedure
1. Sample Collection
A sample is collected from the nasopharynx, throat, or in some cases saliva
2. Transport
The sample is placed in viral transport medium and sent to an accredited lab under appropriate temperature control
3. Laboratory Analysis
RNA is extracted, converted to cDNA, and amplified via PCR before a fluorescent signal confirms the result
Good to Know Before Your Test
Our laboratory is certified by Thailand's Department of Medical Sciences and can issue reports in Thai, English, Chinese, and Japanese. Accuracy depends on sample collection quality and viral load
