Pulmonary Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis (TB) spreads through the respiratory system via talking, coughing, and sneezing without covering the mouth. The bacteria become airborne and can be inhaled by others, leading to infection and potential illness. However, not everyone who inhales the bacteria will develop TB, as the body has various mechanisms to fight and prevent the disease. Only about 10% of those infected with TB bacteria will become ill.
